The AP5002A Microwave Analog Signal Generator from Keysight is a sophisticated yet very compact device for generating the most accurate microwave signals and is ideal for applications requiring extended frequency coverage. With a frequency range of 9 kHz up to 12, 20 or 26 GHz (with an adjustable upper limit of 30 GHz), the AP5002A offers a significantly higher frequency span compared to the AP5001A, which reaches a maximum of 6.1 GHz. This makes the AP5002A the perfect choice for microwave testing and demanding RF applications.
The AP5002A is also more flexible than the AP5001A in terms of output power: it offers a range of -20 to +15 dBm, which can be extended to -120 to +23 dBm with the AP5002AU-1E1/AP5002AU-1EA option. In comparison, the AP5001A has an output power range of -30 to +17 dBm (also expandable to -120 to +17 dBm). This means that the AP5002A can provide more output power, making it suitable for more power-intensive applications.
Another significant difference lies in the non-harmonic interference. Here, the AP5002A with values of -65 dBc, typically even -75 dBc, shows significantly better results than the AP5001A, which only achieves -55 dBc. This improvement ensures an even purer signal quality for the AP5002A.
